Swedish Massage
Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.
Deep Tissue session may also be for 1/2 hour.
Hot Stone Therapy
Hot Stone Therapy is a style of massage where heated basalt smooth stones are placed at specific sites on your body to deepen relaxation and promote circulation in your muscles. Muscles that are heated with these stones release tension and stress much more deeply and quickly than with a traditional massage. The overall experience is very relaxing, nurturing, and rejuvenating.
This is an ultimately indulgent massage.
*Please note that during pregnancy it is contraindicated to receive hot stone massage.
TMJ Massage
Please obtain a physician prescription for this treatment.
TMJ massage is the treatment of the muscles around the Temporomandibular Joint. This treatment consists of external and intraoral treatment of the jaw muscles, scalp, temporal, and also includes a neck massage.
Dysfunctional TM Joint may include the following symtoms: popping, clicking, recurrent headaches, dizziness, neck pain, ringing in the ears, clenching, grinding your teeth & limited ROM. (referenced from Judith Walker Delany LMT NMT)
Massage may not be the cure for TM Joint dysfunction, but it has been my experience that it helps to decrease symptoms and improve motion.
Pregnancy Massage
We have a table specifically designed for pregnancy massage here at our facility.
Pregnancy Massage is a style of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant women. Pregnancy is a time when a woman's body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical and emotional changes. Using various techniques specially developed for the expecting mother, Pregnancy Massage helps release the pain and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, and improved breathing and relaxation.
Reflexology
Reflexology is a type of bodywork that focuses on applying pressure to the specific nerve zones in your feet. Unlike other foot massages that intend to mostly relieve tension in the feet themselves, reflexology is a far more in-depth science that aims to harmonize your entire body. According to reflexology, every part of the human body is mapped into your feet. Reflexology treatments have been found to be highly effective for conditions such as allergies, headaches, and depression.
This service may be added on to any massage.
Cranial Sacral Therapy (SM)
CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle yet powerful technique that is effective in releasing neck pain, back pain, and mental stress (among other things). It does this by optimizing the movement of cerebrospinal fluid through the spine and around the skull. Developed by physician William Sutherland, this therapy provides a very soothing and relaxing healing experience.
Sports Massage Therapy
Not just for Pro's anymore but anyone with an active lifestyle of physical job can benefit from the science behind our work. Play harder, recover faster and reduce your risk of injury.
Cupping Massage
Cupping therapy is trendy now, but it's not new. It dates back to ancient Egyptian, Chinese, and Middle Eastern cultures. This method creates a vacuum. The suction and negative pressure provided by cupping can loosen muscles, encourage blood flow and helps to sedate the nervous system. Great for muscle soreness, trigger points, pain relief and swelling.
Cupping is not recommended for replacement for typical treatment. It is not recommended for thin skin or obese. Cupping may result in bruising.
